Moores Riverboat

Moore’s Riverboat is planning to open on June 15.  I dropped by and caught Ken Scheidegger in the midst of installing his new bar made out of a Chris Craft Commander.  The whole interior has been revamped and we look forward to Moore’s being a great hang out on the Delta loop.

ship passing Windmill Cove

ship passing Windmill Cove

We were at Windmill Cove a week ago and saw a huge ship go by, possibly the biggest I have ever seen go up the river.  We conducted our “cup rattling” experiment and sure enough nothing rattled as the ship went by.  You may recall Brian Atwater who is a “scientist” employed by the Delta Stewardship Council has claimed that ships passing up the river cause “cups to rattle” on nearby levees.  He is the only one that we have been able to find that has observed this phenomena which takes a 4 on the Richter scale to produce.  The Delta Stewardship Council if you are not aware is working in concert with the Bay Delta Conservation Plan to divert the Sacramento River around the Delta with twin 60 foot diameter tunnels.  Part of their hype is that the Delta will be destroyed by an earthquake in the near future.  Of course in history there has never been a known case of a Delta levee being damaged by an earthquake.

Please try to attend the Delta Chambers mixer at Sunset Sweets on Wednesday June 12 starting at 6:00PM.  It will be a lot of fun and you can meet some new friends and possibly win a prize or two.
